The recently announced G.O.O.D Music president Pusha-T delivers yet another typical Pusha-T album with the similar Pusha-T sound.

Let me be honest I felt "My Name is My Name" was an amazing album easily in the top 5 best rap albums of 2013 and it was always going to be a difficult task for Pusha-T to make a better album than the highly rated album "My Name is My Name".

To think of it "Darkest Before Dawn" is just a prelude for the album "King Push" so it’s not easy to criticize or praise it but when listening to the album I felt like something was missing or it was incomplete, at the end of the album it left me asking "is this it", it was too short It left me asking for more but taking nothing away from the music though it was really great with that typical Pusha-T sound and great production.

The G.O.O.D Music President touches on the usual topics he normally raps about like cocaine, drug dealing and also a bit of politics, on the first released single "Untouchable" (which was produced by Timbaland” Pusha-T calls out Donald Trump by saying "Fuck Donald and his pledge" on the same song that features a sample of Notorious BIGs “Think B.I.G” track. On the Jill Scott featured track "Sunshine" he touches on current matters in America like police shootings, murder, capitalism and the impact of media such as TV news. So basically, Pusha-T was a great representative of the average black man in the hood on the album.

The album features artist like The Dream, Jill Scott, Kehlani etc. It is an album with great collaborations with more than 20 producers involved in the production process of the album including J.Cole and Kanye West. Overall the album is a great listen but it does not feel complete enough for me to regard it as a "classic” album.
