Top 10 US RAP ALBUMS 2017 (year end)

What has debatably been the greatest Hip-Hop year in more than 10 years producing some of the best works across all genres, putting together a top 10 list has not been easy but the following are the albums I feel where the best in 2017 based on artistry, lyricism and unique sounds.

10. Vic Mensa- The Autobiography

Amazing story telling by Vic. If you have been following his catalogue you would notice how he has grown as a musician. Great album.

9. Tyler, the creator - FLOWER BOY

This was rather unexpected from tyler, yet very pleasing. The sound and mood was very different for a tyler album.

8. Big Krit - 4EVA IS A MIGHTY LONG TIME

Big Krit is one of the better lyricists in the rap game right now, I don't think anyone expected any less from what he produced .

7. Joey Badass - All Amerikkkan badass

This album produced some of best verses in the Rap game in 2017.

6. Future - HNDRXX

Famously known as the singing future album, HNDRXX album gave us a different sound from future with more musical elements.

5. Jay-Z - 4:44

Uncle HOV showing maturity while preaching the importance of family, black excellence, generational wealth and much more. Great listen!!

4. Talib Kweli - RADIO SILENCE

An amazing album which many heads in the Hip-Hop community might not have heard due to the huge wave of albums being dropped in 2017!! I challenge you to listen.

3. Rapsody - LAILA’S WISDOM

I challenge everyone to listen to this album if you haven't!! Perfect vocal delivery, amazing storytelling!! Rapsody is a TOP TIER LYRICIST no debate. Beautiful outro!

2. Cyhi The Prynce - NO DOPE ON SUNDAYS

Top tier lyricist among his peers, Cyhi put the foot on the pedal from the get go!! Giving us bar after bar on the Intro! Amazing album!

1. Kendrick Lamar - DAMN

Debatably his best offering to date, K.Dot showed pure artistry which has been missing in today's hip-hop. Well rounded masterpiece, pure ART!
